Research Profile - Professor Zhi-Xiu Lin

Professor Zhi-Xiu Lin and his research team perform both preclinical and clinical studies. In recent years, Professor Lin has focused his research on exploring the potential of Chinese medicines and their chemical ingredients on the treatment of pancreatic cancer, Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, psoriasis and atopic dermatitis using in vivo and in vitro experimental models. Clinically, his team evaluates the effectiveness and safety of acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine for the treatment of a number of diseases such as overactive bladder in elderly people, atopic dermatitis, mild cognitive impairment and male infertility.

Over the years, he has published over 170 research articles on Chinese medicine and natural products, among them, around 150 articles are in the SCI-cited journals, such as British Journal of Cancer, Cancer Letters, Phytomedicine, Journal of Ethnopharmacology, Brain, Behavior and Immunity, Free Radical Biology and Medicine, and the FASEB Journal.
